3. Works of art are of an infinite solitude, and no means of approach is so useless as criticism. Only love can touch and hold them and be fair to them.

10. There are so many ways to be connected to people. There are the people you feel this unspoken connection to even though there's not even a word for it...There's the people who you've known forever...who know you in this way... that other people can't. Because they've seen you change. They've let you change.
11. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.
12. I love you. Not like they told you love is, and I didn't know this either, but love don't make things nice; it ruins everything. It breaks your heart. It makes things a mess. Neither can you know whether a person loves you. It’s something you just have to believe or hope. But these things are more important to you than the fact that the sum of the angles in a triangle is 180 degrees. You don't think about the law of cause and effect or about modes of perception when you are in the middle of your first kiss.
14. For it is only habit and memory that dulls the physical passion. Without memory, each night is the first night, each morning is the first morning, each kiss and touch are the first.
